It's time... to Believe in YOURSELF.

Dear Friend,

There are going to be moments where you heart will SOAR, the creativity will FLOW and JOY just oozes out of you. But often, bumps in the road will hit you when you're not expecting it, and when it does, i want you always Believe in YOU. 

There will be people who will support you along the way in your journey, but there will also be people who just think you're crazy. Sometimes, these people will be the ones closet to you, and like a quick rip of a bandaid...that will hurt the most.

During these hard times, it's MOST important that you BELIEVE IN YOU. Through thick and thin, believe in YOU. YOU can do this. YOU have things under control, even when you don't feel like you do. I have faith that things will all work out... in time. And BRAVE you.. you will PUSH through the hard times, because deep deep down inside... you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.  

And on those days when it's hard, and you don't seem to believe in yourself.. take a moment, please take JUST a moment... to sit and breathe... and relish in the fact that you GOT this!!! In time... you SO got this!!!!

Zoe Ingram talks being GOOD {ENOUGH}.

Today's post is from the AMAZING Zoe Ingram! I met Zoe in an licensing class called MATS last year, and have watched her BLOOM before my eyes! I'm super proud of her, and so happy to have her on my blog today! 

"I made this illustration as a reminder to myself as an adult but it’s definitely something I would have told myself as a teen or even as a younger child and also it's something that I will always tell my girls and anyone else who struggles with this. Don't let anyone tell you or make you feel that you're not good enough. You ARE good enough."

Blog PARTY {DAY 1}! - Lets be UNpopular!!

Woahhh boy friends.. I'm going a little Nutty doing WAYYYY too many things at once!! So many fun projects happening right now BUT first up is the Book LAUNCH blog Party for my book!!! Yay! Today is the FIRST day of the 'party'!!

In addition to others posting, each week i'll be posting multiple blog posts from myself, and from SO MANY amazing other illustrators! I'm so so excited! This week already we have 10 incredible people participating!

Holy Cow, i still suffer with "Why Don't Like They Me?" syndrome All The Time. ...but the good part of being older, and "wiser" is that i can realize WHO my GREAT friends are, and during hard times, i know i can go to them and they will love me no matter what! It would SO hard to tell my younger self this though.. I'll keep trying to remind young people this though!!! Maybe if it's repetitive enough, they will one day believe me! :D

Who's READY for a BOOK UPDATE?!?

Bout time right!?!

Since my last post I've been writing like CRAZY!!!! 

Last Tuesday night I went to a lecture about children's book publishing. After hearing HOW LONG it took, and how much the editors might change, i left there thinking...

"I'M TOTALLY SELF PUBLISHING!" 

That night, i couldn't sleep because i was so stoked. I came up with a whole Kickstarter plan and have been ready and working on the book like MAD since that evening! 

This book is WAYYY too important to wait two years, and i'm not willing to part with my title i've come up with OR my illustrations.. so LOOK OUT WORLD, this book will be ready by February! 

#crazypants!

The (5) regrets of Dying..

I read this article around Christmas time and i was completely intrigued by it!

"Bronnie Ware is an Australian nurse who spent several years caring for patients in the last 12 weeks of their lives. As many of her patients approached their final days, she would ask if they had regrets or things they would do differently.

Ware was so surprised by the phenomenal clarity of vision people gained at the end of their lives that she began documenting their responses."

I was so inspired that i started drawing the statements and posting them on the Nightly Doodles blog for the next week.

I decided that the FIRST thing I'm going to work on in 2013 is allowing myself more happiness, and so far i think I've done an okay. :)

Nightly Doodles in the MOMA?!

BOY...i hope so!!

The MOMA design store was looking for new NYC artists to submit their work to add to the shop. I submitted my work, and got an e-mail saying i made it 'to the next round' aka can bring in samples of my work!! 

Late last week, i picked three i really loved [thanks for your help deciding boyfriend!] and brought them and a hand written 'nightly doodles' note card to the office building.

This would be...

IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE!

I've been a BUSY bee!

Life has been such a crazy adventure, i can't barely keep up! After opening my new "Nightly Doodle" Etsy shop and blog, i decided i needed to really reVAMP all my shops!

I'm having with the changes i've been making, and think it will be completely worth all the effort once i feel a little more caught up.
