I love how all of her cards have a slight retro feel to them, and how simply lovely they are!!

This one made me giggle. :D I hope you enjoy her work as much as i do. She has loads more in her Etsy shop!

One Year Ago today...

was a really complicated day actually....

i'm very thankful that hearts have the ability to heal...
....and even sprout over time.
that we, as humans, are able to forgive; ourselves and others.
that things WILL get better.
that each time something unexpected happens...
that we DO heal.
that other things BLOOM.

Until all of those things happen though...
thank goodness for THIS math problem!

Thank you to ALLLLLL of those who have helped me heal, and loved me; even on my worst hour. It's been a roller coaster of a year and i'm so incredible blessed to have the support system i've had over the last 365 days. [and still do!]

I'm always incredibly amazed that people really love me. [even when i forget they do]. God is good, and keeps reminding me!! [over...and over....]

I am loved.
and SO. ARE. YOU!

Have a lovely Sunday,

[which is the important part] :p

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Foodie Friday - Home Made Brusetta

My friends came over on Tuesday night for craft/cooking night. We made fresh brusettta. Twas delicious!

French Bread
Cherry Tomatoes
Mozzarella cheese
Oil and Vinegar

We got our produce and cheese from Whole foods and our bread from Publix.

First cut thick slices of fresh french bread.
Dice the Mozzarella and cut the cherry tomatoes in two.
Fill the bottom of a bowl with vinegar.
Add cheese and tomatoes to the bowl of vinegar.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spread bread slices on a cookie sheet.
Add a decent amount of the cheese/tomatoes to each slice of bread
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is crunchy and cheese is brown'd.
And ta-da! Deeelicious!
As you can see, WE really liked it! :p

One Year Ago Today...The Hospital

One Year ago today...i was in excruciating pain. I had just come back from California and happened to kick a couple pieces of glass. I cut my pinky toe open in four places.

[who the CRAP can cut such a tiny toe that many times?]

They could only put four stitches in it since i did such a bad job, and couldn't even sew up the top of my toe. A shame too, since i am still having pain and nerve problems with that silly toe. :[

Anyways...during this time, i was very blessed with some special friends. Some of whom are still in my life. Others who are not. Regardless...i am so thankful for these special people. Last summer was magical and I'm so thankful for it.

I spent the next 5 months on crutches, had to clean my wound more times then i could count. Battled MANY tears. But it taught me that i am so much stronger then i EVER anticipated.

It sucks [royally] that i am still in pain. BUT I'm so thankful for the lessons i learned while taking care of myself during this year ago starting today.

One year is still crazy.

There are [many] days i still feel like my life is falling apart. But even in the "worst of days"..

..i am still very thankful for all the blessings, in my life.
[past, present and future]

I hope you are having a lovely day that doesn't involve hospitals!
Peace, Love, and PBJ,

One Year Ago this week.... Califonia Roll IRL!

How the crap has a year flown by SO fast?

This week, one year ago, i was in California. My life was upside down. I got accepted to Renegade. I was seeing my best friend i hadn't seen in years. Did i mention my life was upside down?

Renegade was super amazing. I shared a booth with Andrea, who is so talented, and friendly!

I had sushi at the bar of a place Sean frequented, so we got loads of free [scary] things to try. I tried [successfully] using chop stix. [and failed.]

Brian drove me all around, ate cupcakes, brought me to Ralph's [who makes the BEST cherry jam] cracked an egg with one hand. drove like a maniac. :) and made fun of me on his podcast.

Twas a lovely trip indeed.
I only have one real disappointment....

The California rolls are better in Orlando. :]

Are you going on any fun trips this summer?
Mucho love to you,

Change O' Heart. Change O' Price.

I posted a blog post a while back about selling my photographs. After much deliberation, i am lowering the price to only $10.00!!

Variations of colors in one setting have always been my weakness. I just LOVE how magical images look when they showcase an abyss of beautiful colors.

I heart Cupcakes. But seriously, who doesn't? Live the calorie free life and enjoy this stellar cupcake print.

These prints are 8x10 but other sizes are available in other sizes.

What do ya think? Are they worthy of printing/buying? I hope so!!

I hope you're all having a stellar week!

So Santa Says....."I wouldn't want you to do anything that wasn't fun"

I'm at Panera and saw Santa. The real one I'm sure. For some reason i guess it surprised i dropped my glass of water all over myself and the floor. As I'm standing there shocked, wet and stuttering i get out; "Well, that was fun."

Santa responds by saying.."Well, that's good. I wouldn't want you to do anything that wasn't fun." Then walks away.

Twas a fun experience i wanted to share. Now back to your scheduled programing...

Blogger Dan said...

I laughed out loud at this. I can imagine it was a great way to start the day, if this in fact happened before 6 am like your blog post indicates.

I didn't even know there was a 6 in the a.m. ...

***I found this blog post of mine from December 2008 and laughed out loud. I figured NOW would be a good time to post it. :)***

Smiles to you friends!

Foodie Friday! - Baked Brie Bread Bowl.

Say that four times fast!!!

Oh...Brie Bread were a wonderfully horrible thing.

It's so simple, i highly recommend it! But i'm giving you a fair warning. Make sure to invite MANY friends over when you make this. It was SO delicious that my friend Jenny and I DEVOURED it. I said it friends, you have been WARNED! :)

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

We were searching for Sour Dough round loaf, but found a "semi-sour dough" variety. [i found it to be very good. my friends said it was so-so] First step is to cut out a lid/top of the bread.

Hallow out a decent amount from the inside of the bread to make...ta da! a bowl. Put a wrapped brie round inside the "bread bowl". Add preserves on top. We used Current preserves, but apricot should be very good as well. We added pecans on top as well, but they are purely optional. Then put the bread "lid" on top. Cover it in tin foil and put on a cookie sheet.

Now...i just realized, i have NO idea how long we put that in there for. Ha! I think it was 20 mins. I will have to ask my friend Jenny... Either way, the bread should be a little crispy and the brie should be gooey.

I mean could you NOT want to eat that?? Mmm...

I forgot a step. The KEY to this dish... The essence that makes it SO delightful is a secret i will share with you... Make sure to invite your friend over to cook, and then have him sleep on the floor with his legs on the couch...kind of like THIS.

Somehow my friend Chip found this very comfortable. He missed out on not only cooking this delicious dish, BUT he missed out on eating it too. lol

I wonder how long it will be before Chip notices i posted this picture of him on here. I'll keep you posted. ;)

Have a wonderful friday!
Peace, love and PBJ,

Nightly Contemplations... are you an enemy?

Do you ever feel like two different people?
I do.

In general, i do feel our society dwells on the negative much more then the positive and it breaks my heart. I'm no different then anyone else.

In fact, if anything... i'm probably worse.

I'm very positive and optimistic for everyone else [most of the time]. But i'm so negative and hateful to myself, that there are days i honestly don’t even know how i get by.

It’s a constant battle, these two people inside me. One; the person i KNOW i really am, the person i want to be. The other; well, the other is the biggest “Debbie Downer” I can ever fathom. I am constantly and continually bewildered by how screwed up i am. And how my perception of myself is so skewed.

it's quite frustrating .... and more then that. it’s VERY VERY draining.

Do you ever feel this way about yourself? Are YOU, your own worst enemy at times?

My mom gave me a book to read while i was down visiting. It's helping her, which is a glorious thing. I'm reading it and find it INCREDIBLELY truthful and humorous. Maybe you will like it too. :)

Life is TOO beautiful. TOO precious. And WAY TO MUCH of a gift to consistently let it us down!! We all have to fight these negative demons away!!! It’s NOT easy, and infact VERY hard at times, but we WILL concur this.

I have faith in all of us!
I hope you do too.

Love, Smiles, Thanks, and Cookies to YOU beautiful lady!! [or gentleman!] ;)
